A remarkable Arts and Crafts mansion in Elstree is in search of a new owner, sporting a price tag of £25mn.
Considered to be one of the finest works by the master architect George Walton, The Leys was completed in 1901. The overall aesthetic and detailing was influenced by the distinctive “Glasgow School”, which Walton pioneered, and the 17,500 sq ft property was listed as Grade II* in 1995, denoting “particular architectural or historical importance”. It was also the home of the well-known photographer J. B. B. Wellington until 1939.
Sales agents Ian Green Residential are describing it as one of the finest houses to come to the market in Hertfordshire.
